Gallery 54 is located in historic Penola, adjoining the premium wine growing area of Coonawarra in South Australia’s Limestone Coast.

The gallery was established in 1997 by a collective of artists as a platform to promote, sell work, encourage and develop fine art within the Limestone Coast region. The gallery has become a vital element in Penola’s vibrant culture of fine art, food and wine.

The gallery offers the visitor the opportunity to view and purchase the works on display and meet the individual artists who staff the gallery in rotation. The works on display include paintings, drawings, printmaking, works on paper, ceramics, textiles, sculpture and jewellery. The Gallery contains a dedicated exhibition space, delivering rotating exhibitions and is available for hire for artists at all stages of their careers.

Gallery 54 has received state tourism awards for their contributions to the arts industry. Individual Artists have received many awards, been selected for artist exchange programmes, worked on community art projects, been represented in numerous prestigious exhibitions and are represented in public and private collections.
